The following information is an update regarding the development at the Tortuga Del Sol Property near Pescadero in Baja:

1.) The signatures from all members of the Salgado family have been obtained giving us clear title for all parcels of the project. The process required two additional weeks of time than originally scheduled. The “Moving Forward” schedule has been revised to reflect this change.

2.) The remainder of the “Moving Forward” tasks have been and are being completed as projected. The process to have titles ready to transfer in late August or early September is still on schedule.

3.) Construction on the site is exemplified with the progress of the new entry gate. The entry design incorporates a 16’ high wall 210’ in length. The below photos illustrate progress and the installation of back light signage. The entry has a spectacular presence on the expanding highway corridor.

During my las visit to the property, Los Cerritos and Pescadero were firing with great surf and perfect weather.  The Tortuga Del Sol property saw its share of good waves, and the beach in Los Cerittos was unusually busy for late January.

Speaking of the Los Cerritos beach, there is a new bar and grill right on the waterfront.  Lucky for me, it was equipped with multiple big screen TVs showcasing the 2008 NFL playoffs.  The food I tried was great and the staff was tranquilo, although the prices were bit steep—I guess the price you pay for such a beautiful piece of real estate. 

Recent developments with the Tortuga Del Sol property on the southern coasts of the Baja peninsula will see a new resort in the near future:  La Amanezca.  The Resort and Spa will offer fractional ownership with health and wellness programs and activities to capture clients interested in a medical spa and integral health practices.

When visiting the Tortuga Del Sol Property in Los Cerritos, there are several accommodation options for interested parties to stay.  If your trip to Cabo is centered around entertainment we suggest the Cabo San Lucas Inn, a quaint yet affordable bed and breakfast in the center of downtown Cabo.   If you plan on staying in Cabo San Lucas or San Jose Del Cabo, the drive to Tortuga Del Sol is only 40 minutes, so a day trip to the area can be done in under half a day.  Also, there are many beautiful and pristine beaches in Los Cerritos, Pescadero, and the surrounding coasts.

 If you would like a more mellow experience or just want to be closer to Tortuga, there are several options in Todos Santos and the surrounding areas.  One hotel in Todos Santos we highly recommend is the Hotel California Mexico.  We recommend this option for those who are more interested in R&R and not necessarily the hectic “El Squid” lifestyle.

Tortuga Del Sol is located between Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos on the Pacific side of the Baja Del Sur coast. It is a unique area with diverse wildlife and desert landscapes. One of the most appealing aspects of the area is the climate, typically 10-12 degrees cooler then Cabo San Lucas and areas around the Sea of Cortez.
